The position will report to the Director, Tax Operations and will have a close working relationship with the Corporate Finance and Accounting Group, along with interaction with the segment corporate offices and operating company locations.
Job Description:
Assist the Director, Tax Operations with day-to-day US domestic federal and state income tax compliance and planning matters, including identifying and leading process improvements, tax planning and modeling, and post-acquisition integration. Collaborate with the international tax, M&A, tax controversy, and tax reporting teams within the tax department. Interact with all levels of management, as well as external service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and lead process improvements projects related to federal and state tax matters, including tax process enhancements related to recent implementation of OneStream consolidation tool
- Research and document support for tax positions, including modeling impacts of tax planning initiatives and other significant transactions for federal and state compliance
- Analyze and model the impacts of new tax proposals and legislation
- Manage post-acquisition tax integration, including coordination with sellers and internal stakeholders
- Lead US R&D tax credit analysis with internal contacts and outside advisors
- Oversee state tax compliance and planning projects, including quarterly estimated tax payments, with internal team members and external service providers
- Collaborate with tax controversy team on domestic tax audit defense, including gathering requested data
- Collaborate with tax reporting, tax planning, and corporate accounting groups, business units, and legal counsel
- Coordinate preparation of captive insurance and private foundation tax returns with external service provider
- Opportunity to lead Pillar Two compliance, if interested
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. corporate income tax law
- Proven ability to lead the completion of large, complex, income tax returns within tight timeframes
- Ability to research and analyze income tax issues and new legislation, with strong written/verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks
- Leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting/CPA
- 10+ years of technical U.S. income tax experience required (Big 4 experience preferred)
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience implementing process improvements, automation experience (e.g. PowerBI, Alteryx) is a plus
- Experience working on large compliance engagements and working with service providers
Work Arrangement : Hybrid
Pay Range: $175,000.00 - $195,000.00 annually
This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
